  • Who are you?
    • We're a family owned small business selling Dolls online since 2002. 
    • or, we're Papa Pete and Addie Laudin, owners of a New York State corporation registered as The Happy Artist LLC and doing business as The Pattycake Doll Company and BestDollsForKids.com
  • Where are you based?
    • We're located about five hours northwest of New York City in a small village called Fayetteville, NY.  
  • What are you all about?
    • Children's Dolls.
    • Specifically, dolls that are harder to find locally, like the Black Dolls, Brown Dolls and Asian Dolls, but also other niches like Redhead Dolls, Dolls with Glasses, Dollhouse Dolls, Down Syndrome Dolls and more.
    • Where are your dolls made?
      • About half are made in China, the rest are made in Spain, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Eastern Europe, etc.
      • But regardless of where they are made, every doll we sell meets all American and European Toy Safety standards, as regulated by the Consumer Products Safety Agency (CPSA)
    • Can I get a doll made to look like my child?
      • We are not manufacturers nor importers, we're simply a doll store selling dolls made by companies like HABA, Madame Alexander, Adora, JC Toys, Bonikka, Miniland Educational and many more.
    • How do I get a hold of you?

    • How long does it take to get my dolls?
      • We ship 6 days a week, getting  your package out on the same or 'next business day' after we receive your order; at which point we immediately email you your shipping confirmation and tracking number.
      • We ship via US Mail, which usually gets you your dolls in two or three days for the East Coast, within the week West Coast.
      • During the holidays we occasionally ship with UPS as well.
    • How much is shipping?
      • We charge a flat shipping rate on all packages of just $6.95
        • Return shipping is free in the first 30 days, just send us an email asking for a return shipping label.
    • I'm buying this doll as a gift, can I ship my doll to another address?
      • Yes, the order form allows for both a billing address and a shipping address.
      • You also have the option to have the doll gift wrapped or gift bagged.
      • The packing slips we include don't show prices.
    • Why do you need my email / phone number?
      • In case we have to contact you for a shipping address or an order correction. (duplicate orders, incomplete orders). We don't share your email address with any other companies. And unless you opt out, we will email you occasional sales and specials.
      • We use the US Postal Services address verification system, and they won't let us create a shipping label if you don't give us a complete and accurate address. (Especially Apartment, Building numbers and Zip Codes.)
    • I didn't get my package! 
      • The most common reasons for that are four: You shipped it to the child's address, not your own, the Postal Delivery Driver couldn't get safe access so took it back to the post office, (Contact your Local Postmaster / Postmistress with your tracking number,) the package was placed in a 'postal locker,' or a neighbor picked it up for you to keep it safe. 
      • If there is a lot of 'Porch Theft' in your area, please send the package to a 'safe' address. We can't do anything on our end to prevent it. 
    • What about refunds and returns?
      • We have a 'No Questions Asked' 30 Day return policy with full merchandise refunds. 
    • How can I pay?
      • We accept most major credit cards, PayPal, Amazon, Meta, Apple, Venmo, Shop Pay and Google.
    • Can I cancel my order?
      • Yes, but remember we ship quickly, so if you're going to cancel, cancel quickly!☺
    • My payment didn't go through, Why?
      • Usually because the 'Billing' Address or CCV code you provided didn't match what your bank has on record. 
      • Or... our Shopify credit card anti-fraud security software is pretty robust, if they stopped the transaction we wouldn't even know about it. You'll have to call your bank and ask them why you might have been declined.
    • Do you have coupons, sales or discounts?
      • Yes, but mostly for our Grandparent's Club members and previous customers. But we almost always have a great selection of clearance and overstock items on our clearance pages: 
    • I live in Canada / Europe / etc. Do you ship internationally?
      • Sorry, but no, most countries now require us to collect, report and remit taxes at the time you order from us, a time consuming, expensive and onerous burden for a small company like ours.
    • I just inherited a huge doll collection from a relative. Can you tell me how much it is worth, or will you buy it?
    • Can you fix my beloved antique doll?
      • No, sorry, what you are looking for is a 'Doll Hospital.' There are lots scattered throughout the US and many will work with you through the mails.
